tuesday cocktail break: the superfood

So I have been trying to eat more “superfoods”. You know, like, garlic and broccoli and spinach and soy and all those things that each do at least 10 different good things for your body and are all like antioxidentally blessed and lycopentastic and flavonoidally fierce. Then I got a case shoulder bursitis, and booze and ibuprofen were the only things that brought relief. (Um, not together.) But I hate pills. SO, I concocted a silver bullet, my friends. Ginger, your and my favorite rhizome, is a potent anti-inflammatory. It fixed me. Behold, my Miracle Cure…

Superfood

— 1 shot vodka
— 1/2 cup blueberries
— ~ 1/2 – 1 inch fresh ginger root, chopped/sliced
— sugar or honey, to taste
— ~1 cup cold cold water
— equipment: blender

Throw everything in blender. Blend. Drink to your health!

Note: The raw ginger alone will give you a buzz. Try this as a virgin smoothie.
