‘why a liberal arts education is relevant in the business world’

From Pacat:

This morning I’m on the bus reading Slack [: Getting Past Burnout, Busywork, and the Myth of Total Efficiency], which we talked about. I was also thinking about Rebecca Solnit, because Jeff asked me the question about which Solnit to read. All of the sudden, it flashes on me: Solnit makes the same argument in Hollow City as DeMarco makes in Slack.

Cities need slack!

The next step of course involves tying both of these into the postmodern obsession with “absence” — how presence can only be defined by its lack of absence. And then tie it back to software project management to show that negative testing is a form of positive testing.
