tuesday cocktail break: vanjilla

Today’s quenching quaffables are inspired by Celia and a particularly friendly pop-up ad.

VanJilla (modified1)

— Stoli vanilla (no substitutions! see my case here)
— bitters
— a bunch of ice
— a bunch of cherries2, say, 5
— (optional) some mint leaves
— (optional) soda water

In a rocks glass, muddle up the cherries and bitters (and mint if you want). Add ice then pour over vodka, bringing up the stuff from the bottom with a spoon. Finish with soda water for a lighter bevvy. Deeeelish! Tastes best during America’s Next Top Model.

1 Original recipe: “VanJilla (vanilla Stoli on the rocks with several cherries and a lesbian undercurrent). This weekend, I am partaking of the Spiderbite. Vanilla Stoli, sparkling water, several cherries, and a splash of grenadine. Same as a VanJilla, but slightly watered down and with more gas.” (Courtesy of this The Usuals post.)

2 Maraschino cherries work great, but if you want to be extra fancy you can use pitted dark or Rainier cherries.

Spring Fever

— 1 part Stoli Raspberi
— 2 parts iced tea
— a bunch of ice
— ganish mint leaves or lime

How easy and awesome is this?
