The Movie Star
— 1/2 to 1 shot ginger syrup
— 2 shots vodka
— sugared rim (optional)It’s not called the Movie Star for nothing — this baby is high maintentance and goes down easy. (ouch!)
Get yourself a fresh ginger root. Shred a bunch of it — like a few tablespoons worth. (Cheese graters work well.) Simmer this on the stove with sugar and water to get your syrup; start with about a 1/2 cup of water and a 1/4 cup of sugar. After the sugar dissolves let it cool. This is a good time to make a lot of this stuff if you’re into it.
Got your cooled syrup? Excellent. Shake it over ice with the vodka and pour into a martini glass.
